Last week ended with a bang on Friday night at Hunter’s Green Country Club with the Haute Accessories Week 2014 runway show! Everyone was dressed to kill. I was feeling rather presidential myself when I saw a seat reserved with my name on it, I’m not used to that type of VIP treatment. More than that, I felt great because I was surrounded by soooo many beautiful people who came together in the name of fashion to support emerging accessory designers and Joshua House. There was a wonderful energy in the air. I am so glad I was finally able to make it to an event produced by The Fashion Movement. I also must say, Above Promotions did a fantastic job with marketing the event!
Our emcee for the night was the beautiful Mayra Gomez. She kept me cracking up all night! The models all looked stunning as they strutted down the runway in dresses sponsored by Cerulean Blu and their makeup done by artists from Paul Mitchell The School Tampa. I was really just blown away by all of the accessories. I’m not sure what I expected, but my expectations were greatly exceeded. If you haven’t read my prior posts, the participating designers were Shola Designs, Baglanti, Eric Green Collection, JFH Collections, Naje Designs, Tenique Designs, and Malchijah Hats. Tenique Designs was the lucky winner of the online poll for Haute this year, so she closed the show. At the end of everything, Chief Executive Producer Lacey Smith came out to say a few words and received a standing ovation for the first time in 23 years. That must have felt amazing 🙂 Check out our video recap shot by my wonderful husband below, and to view the photos we took at the event, please like us on Facebook!
Thank you to the entire team of The Fashion Movement for having O and me! As Lacey mentioned at the close of the show, it’s because of this Haute Accessories Week that accessories are no longer an afterthought. I can’t wait until Haute Accessories Week 2015, but in the meantime, stay tuned for the next TFM event- Bow Ties & Clutches on December 6th.
