Azede Jean-Pierre RTW Spring 2015

Let me tell you something, I had a major fashgasm when I saw images of garments with floating leaves begin to surface from the Azede Jean-Pierre RTW Spring 2015 show. I attended SCAD-Atlanta with Azede, and I am so glad I had the chance to work with her and walk the runway in her garments for her senior collection in college. The girl truly is a genius. In fact, she recently dressed FLOTUS Michelle Obama for the cover of Essence magazine. I will never understand the intricacy of the patterns that Azede draws up (then again, I studied fashion marketing, not design). The Spring 2015 collection is by far my most favorite since AJP started presenting shows at NYFW a few seasons ago. The way she interprets elements in nature is just amazing. The leaves on some of the garments are so strategically and perfectly placed that it makes me feel like the wind is blowing, and the leaves daintily fell upon the clothing. I had a hard time choosing my top favorites since I’m so in love with all of the leaves, leaf veins, shiny and sheer fabrics, clean lines, beautiful cuts, and fluidity (I know that was a lot, ha!), but here they are:

By the way, long-time AJP supporter Solange Knowles put together an awesome playlist for the models to strut their stuff to, listen here.
